Corporate Treasury – A Basic Understanding
This course gives participants an appreciation of the operations of national and international financial markets and provides a good working knowledge of the main instruments traded in Treasury Markets. The course gives an insight into the requirements of the Corporate Treasurer in industry, from an Irish/European viewpoint. Participants will also be exposed to the role of Financial Institutions and other market participants in the creation of the environment in which treasury activities take place. Special emphasis will be given to legal requirements, control procedures, credit limits and associated risk measurements.
On completion of the course participants will be familiar with:
- The operation of national and international treasury markets
- The process by which interest rates and exchange rates are determined
- The role and function of the various market participants
- Treasury limits and controls and associated risks
