Credit Analysis for Corporate Lenders

This course gives participants a thorough understanding of company accounts and how to analyse them from the perspective of the corporate lender. In addition, it provides an understanding of financial covenants, how to analyse and challenge trading and cash flow projections, stress signals in borrowers and the reasons for corporate failure. The case studies used on the course cover a wide range of sectors. The course also introduces participants to developments and best practice in Integrated Risk Management and the position of credit risk within that framework.

On completion of the course participants are able to assess:

  • The borrowers business from a credit and financial perspective
  • The market and competitive position of that business
  • The operational risk within the business
  • Management quality in the business
  • Political, economic, regulatory and environmental risk.

Who should attend?

The course is ideal for people with basic lending experience, and/or those who have had an educational background in business and who want to develop and broaden their credit and corporate lending skills. The course is also suitable for people working in the credit area of risk management. It is assumed that participants have achieved the level of the Basic Credit Risk Management course.
