During his career with Bank of Ireland Des worked in both retail and corporate banking areas. While in retail banking he was promoted to manager of one of the large Dublin branches. Des spent six years in corporate banking with responsibility for large multinational customers. He was then appointed head of the bank’s credit unit in Dublin.
