Paul McHale

Paul McHale worked with Bank of Ireland from 1974 to 2014 with the latter years of his career in the Bank’s Credit Risk Function. From 2004 to 2009 he worked as a Director in the Property Finance Division in Corporate Banking. His earlier career was in the Retail Division in various front line, specialist support and credit roles.

Paul has an in-depth understanding of all aspects of commercial lending (large and small) and a specific expertise in relation to property. In the period 2009 to 2014 he gained significant experience in managing problem cases with an emphasis on debt resolution solutions, documentation, legal issues and corporate and personal insolvency. During this period Paul held a senior management role in a dedicated Credit Team set up to manage the Bank’s largest challenged property customers (both in ROI and UK) and to manage (on a delegated basis) a large number of NAMA connections. In this role, Paul attended the Bank’s Credit Committee and was also a Chairman of the BOI Nama Credit Committee.

Paul has a B.Comm from University College Dublin and is a Member of the Institute of Bankers.
